Why we built Plumticket.
Most ticketing platforms support many functions: season tickets, flex passes, subscriptions, class and camp registration, auditions, donations, memberships, stadium seating, and white-label deployments. The cost of building, maintaining, and supporting all of that is a meaningful part of why traditional ticketing platforms charge what they charge.
Plumticket is built for the other case: organizations that sell tickets to events without needing complex selling features. By scoping the product narrowly and building it on modern infrastructure from day one, we can charge a fraction of what other platforms charge, and pay you back on top of that.
If you need season tickets, subscriptions, classes, donations, or memberships, Plumticket isn’t built for that, and that’s by design.
What we believe about pricing.
The ticketing industry has a fee problem. Most platforms charge a percentage of every ticket sold, often 2 to 5%. Others claim to be “free” while extracting $2 to $3 per ticket from your buyers. Either way, ticketing companies have built their businesses by taking an outsized share of your or your buyers’ money.
Plumticket charges buyers $0.75 flat per ticket, plus standard payment processing. We send you $0.20 back on every paid ticket. We don’t know of another platform that does this.
Buyers shouldn’t dread the checkout step. Organizers shouldn’t have to choose between absorbing fees or hearing complaints from your patrons. Pricing is the part of ticketing we think most about, and the part we think needs to be fixed.
Who’s behind Plumticket.
Plumticket was founded by Louis Lamoureux, who has spent 16 years building and operating ticketing software for performing arts organizations through his other company, TicketPeak. That system processes more than half a million tickets a year for hundreds of theatres, schools, colleges, performing arts venues, and dinner theatres.
Plumticket leverages that experience to build a low-cost core ticketing system. Same operating team, same back-office infrastructure, scoped specifically for organizations that need event ticketing without the rest.
